is it possible to walk from the hotel to the centre of Salzburg and approximately how long does it take. regards Kev.

Hello! Yes, you could walk from our house to the city center. It takes around 35 minutes. We also have a bus stop directly in front of our house. With bus number 21 you could go directly to the city center in 12-15 minutes. Best wishes Simon Ballwein

Staying at the Pension Baldwin made a a massive contribution to the second half of our holiday.

Every aspect of Pension Baldwin was top notch. If we were to pick anything out it would be the customer service standards of the owners. Nothing was too much trouble, everything we requested was provided.We hope to be able to stay again in future.

We had lovely view from our balcony.From left hand side we could see the castle from right hand side the mountains.In the room we had free botle of water, mini bar, hot water machine for tea and coffe.The owners are really nice.We had high quality and wide choice of breakfast.There is a bus stop in front of the pension which take you to the center.I would tell this place rather a 4* stars hotel than a pension. If we come to Salzburg again we would definetly stay in this place again!

Great stay in Salzburg. Far better than Vienna!

The rooms are very spacious and have large bathrooms. We had a large balcony that was lovely to sit out on with a coffee in the morning and view the mountains. The breakfast was very good with a slight difference every day. Daniella and Simon are very friendly and gave us great advice about getting around. There is a bus stop right out side with a 10 minute ride into town. You can get tickets easily online. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Lack of an English TV channel or Netflix but that its a very minor point.

For country charm and quiet, minutes from central Salzburg, Pension Ballwein is an excellent option!

Charming, quiet and delightful; fantastic breakfast with a wide variety of options, including made-to-order eggs! Spotlessly clean and comfortable, in a semi-rural setting with great views, and only ten minutes by bus from downtown Salzburg. The hosts were so warm and welcoming.... and very helpful with travel suggestions, restaurant reservations, etc. The bus stop is right out front, and there's a great deli across the street for delicious pick-up meals.

I don't think it could have been much better. We loved everything about the property. My only feedback is that it's unfortunate they only accept cash payment (no credit cards), as we had to scramble to get cash from ATMs before arrival (the payment information on the Booking.com page wasn't clear to us, which is the fault of the Booking layout. The reservation is held with a credit card, which that is clearly stated. However the note about cash payment at the property was in tiny type at the bottom of the page, and should have been more prominent) but that was a small inconvenience for such a wonderful experience.

Highly recommend!

The property is close to Salzburg and easily accessible by bus. The food is delicious and the facilities are beyond clean. The owners are delightful people and the fact that they spoke almost flawless English was impressive. We felt very welcome.

There was nothing to dislike about the property.

We really liked the location as it was a very easy bus ride into town, but quiet and country-like. The setting was just lovely! The breakfasts were truly amazing and proprietors were friendly and very helpful!

Perfect stay

Stayed for 3 nights in this lovely accommodation. Owners were welcoming and helpful. Room was comfortable with a great shower and nice balcony. Was also air conditioned. Breakfast was varied and tasty. Bus stop right outside to go into town for 3 euros. Would gladly stay here again.

Extremely happy with our accommodation

The wonderful owner couple who provided outstanding service to the guests. A beautiful designed and comfortable building out on the edge of the city, yet very convenient to take bus #21 to go around the city. The view from the balcony was great too.

Cash only , but I am ok with that. I understand how much it cost for taking credit cards. Just have the money ahead of time, it’ll be fine.

Perfect...

We liked the location...very close to Salzburg, but a very rural, country feel, and quiet - could open the windows at night. We had a lovely balcony with our room. We used the bus stop just outside the property to travel to and return from Salzburg - easy and convenient. The beds were so comfortable and the room was spacious. We were offered freshly prepared eggs at breakfast - scrambled, fried, boiled? - fresh fruit, yogurt, breads, cheese, meats...it was all there. Great coffee or tea. Simon and Daniela were personable and helpful! I can't say enough good things. Lovely property.

I loved that the breakfast bar was everything and more to my expectations! I had scrambled eggs made to order!!!

As always, wonderful!

This was my fourth stay with Simon and Daniela at Pension Ballwein and it was just as wonderful as always. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the breakfast is delicious and the location couldn't be better. But what really makes it such a beautiful place to stay is the kind and friendly dedication of it's owners. They were so accommodating to our every need and we really felt cared for during our time with them. For anybody visiting the beautiful city of Salzburg, make your trip the best it can be and stay with Simon and Daniela. We cannot thank them enough for all they did to make our holiday absolutely perfect and we look forward to returning to stay with them again very soon.

Wonderful oasis in Salzburg

Being just out of the city- right on bus line...quick ride into town and attractions.. Quiet Balcony to relax on.....mountain view...walk to fine restaurant on lake. Hosts Daniela and Simon wonderful and helpful...as well as their adorable "helpers".( daughters). Would definitely stay here again if lucky enough to return to Salzburg! Oh..and the breakfast was wonderful...lots of delicious choices...
